The home page is very simple, and information is found after searching deeper into the site. There is a no-frills menu along the top of the page for easy access.

An interactive Javascript slider is the main focus on the page. It uses choice photos that give off a beneficial quality.

I have chosen a soft blue which conjours up feelings of motherly care for my background.

getdropbox.com will allow me to host my site until it is ready for launch into the real world. Until then, I still must get full backing from my team about use of certain photos, as well as pertainent information about our cause.

The back three are links to seperate pages which will open in a new window. There will be a menu of these options on every page so that the viewer can easily navigate to any destination they choose.

this architecture firm is based in seattle. they are arguably the best architecture firm in seattle. their website is equally impressive.

i chose to show this site to the class, because it is nearly flawless. it features an assortment of features. it has an entire history of projects, with multiple high quality photos that load in the blink of an eye, an elegantly styled navigation, a beautiful opening page with a randomized rotating background photo, and much, much more.

the site also has some dynamic interactive qualities, and an rss feed. i have never found a site that can compare to this one. they do a wonderful job of balancing elegant design with extensive information. the only downside to all of this, is that it must be expensive.

this website uses a similar format to indexhibit sites, with the navigation very small and simple text aligned to the left. i like the idea of a full screen background photo, although the photo choice here is a bit odd and unexplained. navigation, as i said before, is simple and does a great job of showing you where you are. images are large, plentiful, but load a little too slow for my taste. some pages use a javascript scroller, which us custom made for aesthetic purposes, but does not allow the viewer to scroll without clicking. at least it works across multiple browsers. videos are an interesting part of their collection of work, which they choose to have open in a new window that automatically resizes. i like that, but overall, the site feels static and could be more dynamic. there are too many instances in which the navigation leads to a page that has no images while en route to finding content, which bores the shit out of me. imagine looking at a book of photos, in which there are blank pages between some of the pictures. it is as if being british means you must create some boring elements every now and again, leaving us time to take a sip of tea.
